Statement regarding the Coronavirus crisis

The health and well-being of our staff has always been and remains our number one priority, so with that in mind, we would like to let you know about a few temporary changes we have put in place to allow our business to continue serving you as best as possible.

Our lead times have been extended from two to three weeks on all furniture, raised beds or other items that require intervention in the workshop. This is because the workshop staff numbers have been reduced from six to three at any one time to allow a lot of space in between them.

However we do already have a large stock of the most common components like A-frame legs and picnic table tops already assembled. This means that although the actual production of lumber has ceased for the moment, we should be able to continue supplying those schools, companies and public sector organisations that are doing essential maintenance work with the material they need for quite some time.

Those customers of ours who are private individuals will also be able to continue to buy things like raised beds or composters. However we are no longer able to supply decking as we have sold out and will not have fresh stock until further notice.

If you call our office number, please note that the team is working remotely so you may hear things you wouldn’t expect in the background, like dogs barking or children. This may also mean that occasionally there is a delay in answering your call or you get transferred to our reception team and asked to leave a message. If this happens, please rest assured that we will call you back within a few minutes.

While the vast majority of deliveries are made on vehicles with tail-lifts and will be unaffected, drivers have been asked to stay in their cabs when previously they might have helped hand-ball long loads from the trailer. If you have over-sized items like full 3.1 metre lumber sections or a triple pallet delivery due, please ensure you either have a fork lift available or can enlist help at short notice.

We are a wholly-owned British company with a 100% British supply chain, so as soon as the lockdown either ends or is eased and conditions allow, we expect to be operating at full strength with minimal disruption.

In the meantime though, the safety of all staff, whether direct employees or those working in partner companies, remains absolutely paramount, so please excuse the increased delivery times until return to normal.
