British Recycled Plastic – Social Value Policy
Introduction & Purpose
British Recycled Plastic is committed to generating meaningful social, environmental, and economic value throughout our operations. We support the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, creating long-term positive impact for people, the planet, and the economy. Our approach is informed by the UK Government’s Social Value Model (PPN 06/20), including commitments to local employment, environmental sustainability, and community wellbeing, where proportionate and relevant to our activities.
This policy outlines our key commitments and practices that deliver measurable social value across our supply chain and stakeholder relationships.
Alignment with Organisational Values
Our Social Value Policy reflects the core values that drive British Recycled Plastic:

Environment & Sustainability
We reduce CO₂ emissions and support the circular economy by using only UK-sourced recycled plastic and manufacturing exclusively in the UK.
Innovation
We support the development of new products and solutions to tackle plastic waste and support community initiatives.

Our workplace is set in a beautiful rural location, surrounded by greenery and rolling hills, offering a calm and uplifting environment that contributes to staff wellbeing and productivity.
2. Equal Opportunity – Opening Access for All
We are committed to creating inclusive opportunities for people from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups. This includes supporting young people entering the workforce, individuals returning after career breaks, people with disabilities, and those facing barriers to employment. Product Donations
We donate products annually to schools, charities, and community groups to foster greener, more inclusive spaces.
5. Environmental Stewardship
We transform plastic waste into long-life infrastructure, with environmental sustainability embedded in every stage of our operations.
UK-Only Waste, Manufacturing & Shipping
We use only UK-sourced plastic waste, manufactured exclusively in the UK and only deliver our products to mainland UK. This minimises transport emissions and strengthens the domestic recycling industry.
Green Operations
Our website runs on renewable energy and is verified by The Green Web Foundation, reinforcing our commitment to a low-carbon digital footprint. In support of our social value commitments, we reduce waste by reusing materials, avoiding landfill, and embedding circular economy practices. We are also working towards a cleaner energy future by using renewable energy where possible and exploring further low-carbon solutions.
Take Back Scheme
At product end-of-life, we offer a return-and-recycle scheme, keeping materials in use and supporting a fully circular supply chain.
Carbon-Saving Logistics
Our product bundles optimise pallet space to reduce delivery-related emissions.
Impact Transparency
Customers receive a “milk container count” to show the volume of plastic waste diverted from landfill, supported by publicly available lifecycle analysis.
Environmental Memberships
We are active members of environmental associations to ensure accountability and alignment with best practices.
6. Innovation – Promoting Social Innovation
We use creativity and enterprise to tackle complex challenges and generate long-term social value.
Circular Product Design
Our products are durable, recyclable, and built with end-of-life reuse in mind.
Lifecycle Reporting
We share product performance data to support transparent, data-driven sustainability improvements.
Monitoring & Transparency
We are committed to continuous improvement and accountability.
Regular Reviews
This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

We will consult with staff and stakeholders to ensure our work remains meaningful, measurable, and impactful.
