When trying to fix recycled plastic lumber to other boards and panels, we recommend using stainless steel Posidrive wood screws, and we suggest using a countersunk piece on the drill to ensure a clean, flush finish.

Stainless steel fixings for recycled plastic offer the best long-term performance, resisting corrosion and matching the durability of recycled plastic. Galvanised fixings also work well; however, they are less sustainable than steel. To ensure our products align with our overall ethos, we choose to use stainless steel fixings for recycled plastic.
To add fixings to recycled plastic, you’ll need to drill out the thickness of the screw shank so that only the threads bite into the material. This gives a cleaner, stronger finish, but washers can be added for extra support where needed. Nails, staples and other fixings won’t bite into the material, correcting and will quickly need replacing.
We advise against burying a screwing plastic lumber directly because stainless steel screws are relatively soft for the extremely dense plastic. Driving a screw straight in without a pilot hole could cause the screw to strip, snap or bind too tightly, making it difficult to remove later down the line. A simple pilot hole removes this risk, making installation far easier.
