On Saturday, 18th April 2026, the Worcester Branch of The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regimental Association held a rededication ceremony for their Malaya Memorial Bench in Gheluvelt Park, Worcester.
The bench is dedicated to the men who served during the Malaya Emergency and urgently needed a memorial bench restoration after falling into disrepair.
With the help of British Recycled Plastic, a huge community effort has made memorial bench restoration possible. It has been rebuilt using our recycled plastic lumber for the slats in place of wood, which had eventually rotted from the original bench.
