7 Reasons To Choose Recycled Plastic Picnic Tables

In today’s world, sustainability is more than just a buzzword—it’s a necessity. As we look for ways to reduce waste and environmental impact, the materials we choose for our outdoor spaces matter. When it comes to outdoor furniture, if you choose recycled plastic picnic benches, you get an eco-friendly, long-lasting, and low-maintenance solution that doesn’t compromise on quality or aesthetics. In this blog, we’ll delve into the advantages of recycled plastic picnic tables, from environmental benefits to durability and style.

1. Choose Recycled Plastic Picnic Tables for Sustainable Spaces

Recycled plastic picnic tables and picnic benches are made from 100% recycled materials, primarily waste plastic that would otherwise end up in landfills or oceans. When you choose recycled plastic picnic tables, you’re contributing to the reduction of plastic waste and supporting a circular economy where materials are repurposed rather than discarded. Not only does this choice help decrease demand for new plastic production, but it also conserves resources and reduces the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing.

Using recycled plastic picnic tables in your outdoor space allows you to enjoy a durable product while making a positive impact on the environment—a win-win for sustainability.

2. Exceptional Durability and Weather Resistance

One of the standout reasons people choose recycled plastic picnic tables is durability. Unlike traditional wooden furniture, recycled plastic doesn’t warp, crack, or rot over time. This resilience makes recycled plastic ideal for the UK’s varied climate, from rainy springs to hot summers. Recycled plastic picnic benches can withstand heavy usage, UV exposure, and even saltwater, making them a top choice for coastal areas, public parks, and school playgrounds.

Durability also translates to cost-effectiveness. With minimal upkeep required, those who choose recycled plastic picnic tables are choosing a smart, long-term investment – lasting far longer than their wood or metal counterparts.

3. Low Maintenance for Busy Outdoor Spaces

Our tables and benches are designed to be low-maintenance, which is why so many schools, parks and public space organisations choose recycled plastic picnic tables. They’re perfect for busy environments, and while wood requires regular treatments and metal needs rust prevention, recycled plastic is maintenance-free. With a simple wash every now and then, these tables and benches will retain their appearance and functionality for years to come. This ease of care saves time, money, and effort—perfect for locations that need reliable, fuss-free outdoor furniture.

4. Safe and Practical for All Ages

Safety is a priority in public spaces, and recycled plastic picnic tables are designed with this in mind. They feature smooth, splinter-free surfaces that are safe for children and adults alike, eliminating the risk of injury that can come with splintered wood. Additionally, recycled plastic is resistant to bacterial growth, which is a plus in settings where hygiene is a concern.

From schools to family-friendly parks, these picnic tables are built with safety in mind, ensuring everyone can enjoy the outdoors comfortably.

5. Stylish Options for Every Outdoor Aesthetic

Just because it’s sustainable doesn’t mean it lacks style. Our range of recycled plastic picnic benches and tables offers a variety of designs and colors to complement any outdoor aesthetic. Whether you’re looking for a classic look or a modern twist, you’ll find a style that enhances your space. With options to match your landscaping, theme, or corporate branding, recycled plastic picnic tables offer both form and function, making them a versatile choice for any setting.

6. Picnic Benches For Long-Term Cost Savings

Although recycled plastic picnic tables may have a slightly higher initial cost than wood, their longevity and low maintenance requirements make them a cost-effective choice over time. There’s no need for sealants, paint, or frequent repairs—just install and enjoy. The long lifespan of these tables means fewer replacements, reducing costs for businesses, schools, and councils that need reliable, long-lasting solutions for outdoor seating.

The delivery cost is included for mainland UK addresses, other than Highlands and Islands for which our hauliers charge a slight premium.

Why can’t I have a yellow recycled plastic picnic table? I’ve seen other companies do it.2024-11-19T14:46:42+00:00

After a number of years experimenting with blends, we have found it very difficult to produce a consistent yellow plastic without introducing what, to us, is an unacceptable amount of virgin material into the mixture. This has led us switching to a bright lime colour, similar to that used on hi-viz jackets, as our alternative. So far, this has gone down very well with our customers.
We are not in a position to comment on the amounts of virgin plastic used by other companies in the production of their yellow. Perhaps you can ask them yourselves.

What colours are the recycled plastic picnic tables available in?2025-09-16T14:36:43+01:00

British Recycled Plastic picnic tables are either fully black, fully brown or with black or brown frames and seats and tops in any combination of blue, red, forest green, lilac, pink, orange, grey and bright lime.
